The Kids Council/CSCC offers four different methods / types of grant funding to address regional goals:

Regular Grants
Twice annually (usually Spring and Fall) applications are accepted for projects that address child and family issues in Region II. Grants awards typically range from $1,000 to $10,000. The average award is $8,500.

Mini-Grants
A Mini-Grant is funding intended to assist a Community Response Teams (CRT) or Committee carry out child and family related activities. The maximum amount of a Mini-grant is $200 and they can be applied for at any time.

Special Grant Opportunities
Periodic funding the Kids Council/CSCC obtains and awards for special issues.

Match/Seed Grants
This type of grant is where funding is requested to help acquire or match funding from another grant or foundation (call for information).


The Region II CSCC/Kids Council has developed a five year plan that identifies specific goals and objectives that will be monitored, evaluated, and/or updated. All grant requests considered for funding must comply with a goal and/or objective outline below.

GOAL 1: SYSTEMS RESTRUCTURING - The Region II CSCC will promote system restructuring aimed at improved assessment, partnering, planning, and collaboration in the interest of children and families.
OBJECTIVE 1: Promote the collection of data and community assessments relative to the physical health, mental health, needs and well-being of children and families in Region II.
OBJECTIVE 2: Work with regional partner agencies to execute refinancing processes/claims on a quarterly basis.
OBJECTIVE 3: Collaborate to seek resources and utilize in-kind match to enhance resources for child and family services in Region II.
OBJECTIVE 4:
OBJECTIVE 5: Maintain the Region II Directory of Services as a means to assist in the coordination and the identification of providers and service delivery gaps.
 
GOAL 2: PUBLIC AWARENESS AND EDUCATION - The Region II CSCC will increase public awareness, education and resources on child and family related issues to children and families.
OBJECTIVE 1: Increase activities that educate the public regarding current issues affecting children and their families.
OBJECTIVE 2: Increase the availability of user friendly information regarding child and family support services will be available throughout Region II.
OBJECTIVE 3: Increase parent and child care education and training opportunities where needed.
 
GOAL 3: CARE AND SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN - It is the goal to improve quality, accessibility and affordability of care and supervision of all children in Region II.
OBJECTIVE 1:Increase age appropriate Youth Enrichment Activities during non-school hours that promote healthy relationships between youth and mentors/adults.
OBJECTIVE 2: Increase the availability and retention of foster care services in Region II.
OBJECTIVE 3: Increase the availability of child-care programs including/but not limited to before and after-school child care, shift work, infant, summer care and special needs children. Providing assistance with start-up, enhancement, and/or expansion of licensed child care programs.
 
GOAL 4: FAMILY SUPPORT - It is the goal of the Region II CSCC to enhance supports that strengthen families to meet the needs of children.
OBJECTIVE 1: Improve services and access to services that address the physical and mental health care needs of communities in Region II based on documented need.
OBJECTIVE 2: Increase the safety of children and families.
OBJECTIVE 3 Enhance family preservation services in Region II, meeting individual needs of children and families in the least restrictive environment. i.e. Parent Aide, Intensive In-Home, Wraparound, Respite, and Optimal Pregnancy Programs (OPOP).
OBJECTIVE 4: Increase support groups and mentor programs for children, youth, and families throughout Region II.
 
GOAL 5: YOUTH ISSUES - It is the goal of the Region II CSCC to provide family support and education programs to increase responsible choices by children and youth.
OBJECTIVE 1: Support the reduction of use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco and other harmful substances.
OBJECTIVE 2: Increase asset building, character enhancement, bullying, suicide prevention and related programs throughout Region II.
OBJECTIVE 3: Increase sexual abstinence education and awareness in Region II.
OBJECTIVE 4: Increase effective educational, prevention, and intervention services that serve at-risk youth.
